Making GRUB Splashimages

Here is a simple way to make your own Grub Splashimage:

  1. Create your own Graphic image.png
  2. convert -resize 640x480 -colors 14 image.png image.xpm && gzip image.xpm
  3. copy image.xpm to /boot/grub/
  4. vim /boot/grub.menu.lst
  5. Add the following line
splashimage (hd0,1)/boot/grub/image.xpm

Note: Assuming your Linux partition as /dev/hda2
